Types of cover

Single trip travel insurance

Single trip travel insurance does exactly what it says; it insures you for a single trip abroad and is ideal if you are only going to make one trip a year.  If your holiday is over 28 days in length, it may well be worthwhile looking at the cost of an annual holiday insurance and have the extra advantages of knowing that you are insured for any trip all year round.

Our Travel and Insure single trip insurance can be taken out either as a Bronze, Silver or Gold Travel Policy.  Each policy is designed to cover those one off trips and holidays, with the Bronze Level for when you may feel that you don't need the full range of cover provided by the Silver or Gold Policy options.  The Silver and Gold covers offer a much wider scope of protection with added options for Business, Golf and Wedding travel insurance.

All of our covers whether Bronze Silver or Gold include a Winter Sports option as well as choices for Hazardous Sports Activities(Back to top)

Annual multi-trip travel insurance

The annual travel insurance policy is ideal for covering all those trips from a main holiday, short break, business trip to even the kids going abroad to see friends or for school trips (subject to additional premium for children travelling on their own).  You can save on costs by limiting your cover to just Europe, which includes the UK, or Worldwide to suit your travel pattern.  What's more, Winter Sports cover is included in all our Annual Multi-trip policies as standard.  (Back to top)

Bronze Cover

Our Bronze Travel Insurance Policy has been designed to cater for people who do not need a full travel insurance cover.  Ideally, it will suit travellers to Europe who own their own property and travel regularly.  As it offers restricted cover, it is not suitable for everyone's needs so do make sure that it meets your requirements.  (Back to top)

Silver Cover

The Silver Travel Insurance Policy represents superb value for money, offering all the protection you would expect from Axa Travel Insurance, a world renowned Insurer.  It offers solid protection for the traveller and gives security to any family going on holiday.  For this reason, it is the policy of choice for many.  (Back to top)

Gold Cover

This is by far our most popular travel insurance policy and gives a full range of protection.  With increased sums insured over the Silver Cover, it also offers some additional areas of insurance, such as the Dynamic Packaging Section, which helps protect you against the effects of insolvency of holiday providers.  (Back to top)

Wintersports travel insurance

At travelandinsure, we appreciate the thrills of this pastime and so have developed a policy wording which will at least help to take away the financial loss should anything go wrong.  We can't make the snow but at least we can help to look after you should you need us.  We cover "off piste" activities subject to policy terms, piste closure because of too much or too little snow or weather conditions and, of course, your skis and equipment against loss or damage.  Unlike many other policies, our Winter Sports section includes an additional sum insured for delayed ski equipment, on top of the normal baggage delay.  Winter Sports cover is included in all our Annual Multi-trip policies as standard and as an optional add-on on our Single Trip policies.  The sums insured do vary depending on the level of cover you are looking for.  (Back to top)

Gap year travel insurance

More and more of people of all ages are taking a GAP year but this can be challenging when things go wrong, often in far-flung countries.  Far from home, the GAP year traveller often needs more than a back up plan.  By linking in with our Medical Assistance Company, we know that if any of our policyholders should ever have a problem, then help is at hand 24 hours a day, no matter where you may be around the world.  A comfort for parents of students!  Experience shows that using an annual multi trip policy works very well, as you may not need to have an insurance that covers you for 6,9 or 12 months away.  Our multi trip policy gives you the option to extend to 60 or 90 days any one trip and is ideal for students who are planning a two or three month trip, coming home for a month or two then going off again.  It really is very flexible. However, for those looking for a more tailored Gap Year insurance, we have also teamed up with ‘Mind The Gap Year™’ to provide you with one of the very best Gap year insurances available on the market at very competitive prices and we have negotiated a 10% discount for our customers when buying online through Travelandinsure. For anyone up to age 40 years looking to take a gap year or extended stay abroad, for up to 18 months, ‘Mind The Gap Year™’ provides hard to beat features such as Travel Provider Failure, return to the UK options and bereavement cover to name but a few, plus other services including free electronic document safe, discounts off travel products, safety training courses and much more.(Back to top)

Sports activities covered

At travelandinsure, we appreciate the adrenalin run of more adventurous pastimes.  We also recognise the fact that when you are on holiday, you want to know that your Travel Insurance is going to cover you for that impulsive one off decision.  Whilst we cover a great number of activities as standard within the policy, please do check the list of hazardous activities, some of which may require you to select and pay an additional premium if the activity is at the more extreme end of the spectrum.  (Back to top)

Business cover

Recognising that business trips carry a different risk for the traveller, we have designed an add-on option to cover your increased exposure.  This business Cover, when chosen, provides additional insurance for business money, equipment including computers and samples.  It also allows you to hire replacement equipment should yours be delayed or damaged during the flight for example.  (Back to top)

Golf cover

Here again, we have tried to meet the demands of everyone and, because the nature of a golfing break carries with it a different set of risks, our Golf Travel Insurance will give you insurance cover for your golf clubs, green fees and even hole in one cover.  Simply tick the relevant box that you require this extra insurance.  (Back to top)

Wedding cover

With the increasing number of weddings taking in place in exotic locations, there is a need to have travel insurance to meet the occasion.  A damaged dress or delayed suits can spell disaster for the carefully planned day.  This option provides extra cover for wedding clothes, rings and gifts as well as insurance for those photographs, which form such an integral part of the special day.  (Back to top)

Maximum age

The maximum age we can accept on all of our policies, whether it's the Bronze, Silver or Gold Cover is 74 years for Single Trip Policies and 65 years for Annual Multi Trip policies.  So long as the policyholder is not 75 or over or 66 or over respectively, at the time of taking out the insurance then we can cover you.  Don't worry if you are over these ages, we can still provide you with an individual quote for your needs, simply telephone 0845 180 0063(Back to top)

Demands and Needs

Under the rules of Financial Services Authority, we cannot sell you a policy without making sure that you fully understand the terms and conditions of the cover which you have accepted.  As part of this, we will generate a Demands and Needs Statement based on the information you have provided to us, which will form the basis of the contract of insurance.  You will need to tick the relevant box to confirm that you have read and accept the terms and conditions before we can complete the insurance policy for you.  (Back to top)
